As a tech specialist, sometimes I forget that I need to start with the basics with a lot of my teachers. Youtube was recently unblocked in my district, so I created this tutorial to as an introduction to Youtube for those teachers who might have never even been to the site. Turns out there were several.

As an Educational Technology Specialist, at the beginning of every school year I spend a lot of time resetting passwords for teachers & other staff members who forget over the long summer break. I think I’ve found a solution to that problem. I’m providing them all with this video tutorial to help them remember their password.

Anyone who uses more than one computer or wants to share files with other people for the purpose of producing something should check out Dropbox. I’ve been using it for a couple months now, and the more I use it the more reliant I become upon it. I find myself dumping more files into my Dropbox than anywhere else, because I am becoming so used to being able to access files wherever I am.

If you’re not familiar with Dropbox, you can check out their website for a great introduction video. The two videos below are one’s I made for the teachers at my school. They show how to save files to Dropbox and how to retrieve previous versions of files and even files that have been deleted.

Finding relevant, new content on websites can be hit & miss and very time consuming – not good especially for teachers who are strapped for time as it is. That’s why you need to take advantage of a news reader, if you haven’t already. These videos demonstrate how to subscribe to the RSS (really simple syndication) feeds of websites/blogs so that instead of looking all over the place for the relevant content, the content is brought straight to you.
